GRP Flat Roof in Hinchley Wood
This is a big, busy flat roof. It sits below a tile-hung gable, with rendered walls on two sides, a pitched clay-tiled roof running along one edge, three flat rooflights and a run of glazing breaking through the surface. Every one of those is a junction where water can find its way in, so the detailing mattered as much as the main area.
Our team took the GRP up the rendered walls as a proper upstand rather than stopping it at the wall line, worked the fibreglass neatly around each rooflight kerb, and finished the edge cleanly against the lead flashings where the flat roof meets the tiled slope. The photos show the roof before the new top coat went on, part-way through, and finished.
GRP is a good fit for a roof like this. It is laid as one continuous seamless layer, so there are no joints in the main area to open up over time, and it copes well with being walked on for maintenance and window cleaning. If your flat roof in Hinchley Wood is cracking, blistering or holding water, it’s worth getting it looked at before the leak reaches the room below.
