GRP Flat Roof Terrace in Claygate
This job involved installing a new GRP fibreglass flat roof over a narrow side terrace, tucked in between the main house and the boundary fence and running past a flat rooflight window.
The fibreglass was laid as a single, seamless membrane with no joints or laps, giving a fully waterproof surface that won’t crack or split with age the way older felt roofs can. The edges were dressed up against the natural stone coping and neatly detailed around the rooflight upstand, and the finish was taken up the abutment wall to form a proper waterproof skirting rather than just a butt joint.
Finished in a smart slate-blue top coat, the roof is now fully sealed, low-maintenance, and built to give decades of reliable, watertight performance in a spot that’s easy to overlook until it starts leaking.
